May Wish List

Visualising all of the wonderfully attractive summer dresses and basket bags there are to buy at the moment and realising that the state of my bank account simply does not allow for me to have them at the moment has made me sad. Hence, I have decided that the most productive way to amuse my extremely dangerous online window-shopping habit would be to turn it into a blog post. Hopefully one of you reading this is in a less financially tragic situation than me and can actually afford to enjoy these lovely things? If not, I can only apologise for bringing you to my level of sadness. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy looking at all of the things I’ve been lusting over in the last month.

Dress – £49.00

Top – £55.00

Blouse – £36.00

I’ve been really obsessed with everything that Topshop have been bringing to the table recently, including this fab stripey dress, how cool is it?! With its long sleeves and practical length is perfect for unpredictable summer weather, and is so smart yet very cool. I’d love to pair this dress with a pair of clean white trainers and a basket bag – perfect summer dressing. The top is by a brand called Lace & Beads, I’ve been really into these glam, embellished tops recently, especially in this champagne colour, it makes everything feel so much more luxe. As for the leopard print blouse, leopard print is about to be huuuge not just for this summer but right into winter as well. I love how loose and flowy this blouse is, the ruffles are a very cute feature too, this will be such an easy piece to wear with jeans and dress up or down!

Shoes – £49.99

Jacket – £49.99

Jumpsuit – £49.99

To say that I’m a little bit obsessed with constantly scrolling down Zara’s website would be a total under-exaggeration, they just always have what I want. Speaking of, these kitten heels are just everything. I’ve been looking for a pair of kitten heels for the longest time but have found all of  the ones I’ve seen a little bit too flashy, these ones are so simple and elegant, and to top it all off they’re pink! They’d look so perfect with a pair of straight leg jeans and a simple white tee. Since I’m loving the ‘more is less’ kind of vibe recently, this jacket is next on my wish list. It’s the kind of jacket that is so toned down, yet the beige colour is enough to make it very chic. This jumpsuit is also something that I love, the pyjama trend is back in full force but this time in the form of a jumpsuit! It’s so chic and looks so comfortable too!

River Island

I know there’s a lot of white here but please bare with! This off shoulder dress would look so gorgeous with a tan (mine will be fake as sister will not be jetting off to anywhere hot once again this summer) and just screams summer party to me, now I suppose all I need is an invite to one? I love this white T-shirt with frilled crochet sleeves too, perfect with a pair of straight leg jeans and espadrille wedges. Lastly, this little set is so cute. If you are going on holiday, unlike me, it would be the perfect casual outfit for dinner and a moonlit walk on the beach. Sigh.

Blouse – £34.99

This blouse needed it’s own space! Is it not just the prettiest thing you’ve ever seen?! I have admired these jacquard-weave styles for so long, I’m always borrowing a similar red blouse that my mum has! I love the subtlety of this style, so nice with a pared-down jean and kitten heels.

Hope you enjoyed seeing what I’ve been lusting over in the past month and maybe it even gave you some shopping inspiration! I’m sure I’ll have more to show you next month so keep your eyes peeled for more!

SS18 Style Guide – Trends To Invest In Now

At last, summer is finally here! SS18 is upon us, and if you’re wondering what trends to invest in, you’ve come to the right place (hence the title). The catwalks saw a number of new trends for the summer, bum bags, co-ords, leopard print, etc., and many of these are set to carry on right into the winter months. But which of these are the most wearable and easy to find on the high street? Well, luckily for you, I’ve picked out some of my favourite pieces that I’ve been wearing non-stop and put together a little SS18 Style Guide. Sit down, Grab a cuppa and enjoy!

1. Gingham and Cowboy Boots33898781_1899617590105479_2686877178976534528_n33897376_1899617503438821_6319359380319895552_n

I call this my cowgirl look – if you thought you had seen the last of gingham in SS17, think again! The check pattern was seen at Mary Katrantzou in bold contrasting colours, in Mara Hoffman’s wide legged jumpsuit, and at Alexander Mcqueen in pretty pastel colours. I’ve opted for this Primark dress, which manages not to be overly “yee-haw” with it’s delicate flared cold-shoulder sleeves. Keep your eye out for a pair of cowboy boots for extra style points, these are going to be huge this summer! I love my pair from Primark that have cut-outs at the back, meaning they can still be worn in the warmer weather.

2. Button Detailing33990776_1899613116772593_6761729376741490688_n33920170_1899613130105925_972824613828427776_n

Top – New Look

I think it’s probably safe to say that you’ve probably already seen a fair few of these bad boys on the high street already, button detailing on everything from dresses and tops to skirts and trousers is huge for SS18. They give the perfect finish to a linen dress in a block colour, just like my dress pictured above from Primark!

3. Straw Bags33890802_1899618100105428_6240953438071422976_n

Meet my new best friend – the basket bag! You neeeeed one of these in your life! Although this one from Zara hasn’t proved to be of the most practical size, I love the leather detailing and I literally haven’t been able to leave the house without it lately. It just manages to make every single outfit that little bit more summery.

4. Retro Florals32705615_1884181708315734_1776291799522869248_n32511914_1884181551649083_5017289767650328576_n

Dress – H&M

Here’s the reason why retro florals are great – they’re pretty without being too delicate or subtle. Not that there’s anything wrong with delicate or subtle but, personally, I like my florals to be a little more kick-ass than that. Bright and powerful – these patterns do just the trick. Retro florals are back in full force for SS18, particularly in dreamy pastels. These are most easily styled in a dress, just like I’ve done here with this H&M shift dress.

Hope you enjoyed this little round-up of my pick of the new season trends, hopefully it gave you some shopping inspiration! I’m sure I’ll be venturing further into some of the other trends not featured here once the weather (and my bank account) allows for it, so keep an eye on my Instagram page for more on that (@_heyitsphoebe)!
